Make a claim online

You can make an online claim if you have a Santander Home Insurance policy administered and underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited. This doesn't include legal services and home emergency cover. 

Before you start

Have your insurance policy number to hand. It starts with MHO or MTH. You can find this in your documents. Prepare the following information when adding your details:

  • receipts, quotes or invoices
  • photos of damaged or lost property.

Start your claim

What to expect when you make a claim:

  • You can report your claim online 24/7.
  • Aviva will tell you about your excess, coverage and value of your claim, where possible.
  • Aviva will give you a quick decision on the result of your claim.
  • Aviva may suggest one of their specialist suppliers to help you.
  • If Aviva need to contact you about your claim, they’ll aim to get back to you within 2 hours Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm. Outside of these hours, Aviva will contact you the next working day. If you need help, call Aviva on 0345 301 0661.

If there’s been an emergency

Call Aviva on 0345 301 0661 to get help. Lines are open 24/7, 365 days a year. The cost of calls to 03 prefixed numbers are national call rates. (Charges may depend on your network and are included in inclusive minute plans from landlines and mobiles.)

When you start a claim you’ll be taken to a secure Aviva site. Aviva will deal with your claim.

You can make an online claim if you have a Santander Home Insurance policy administered and underwritten by Aviva Insurance Limited. This doesn't include legal services and home emergency cover. 

When you make a claim between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm, your Aviva Personal Claims Manager will get in touch within 2 hours. They will  take the details and explain what happens next. Outside these hours, Aviva will contact you the next working day. If you need help urgently, call Aviva on 0345 301 0661. Lines are open 24/7, 365 days a year.

You can make changes and find all of your policy documents in the Home Insurance self service centre
