Activating your new card

Debit card

You can use your debit card online now. To get contactless payments working, you need to pay for something using chip and PIN (personal identification number), or to use a cash machine.

For details on how to change or unlock your PIN, please read our banking at the cash machine guide.

Forgotten your PIN? 

You can view it in our Mobile Banking app. Go to ‘More’, click ‘Cards’, then ‘View PIN’.

Credit card

Chat with us

You can activate your credit card 24/7, with our digital assistant, Sandi.

In Mobile Banking: 

  1. log on to Mobile Banking
  2. click 'Help centre' from the shortcuts in the top of the screen
  3. choose 'Chat with Sandi’
  4. ask to activate your new credit card and follow the steps.

In Online Banking: 

  1. log on to Online Banking 
  2. click ‘Chat with us’ on the right-hand side of the screen
  3. ask to activate your new credit card and follow the steps. 
Self serve in Online Banking

It’s easy to activate your new credit card in Online Banking:

  1. log on to Online Banking
  2. choose the ‘My details & settings’ tab
  3. choose ‘Other services’
  4. scroll down to ‘Credit card services’ and select ‘Activate a new card’
  5. we’ll then send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to the mobile number registered with us
  6. when asked, enter your PIN.

If you’re not set up for Online Banking, you can easily register online.



Each additional cardholder needs to activate their card over the phone. Visit our contact us page and click 'Call now’.
