If you try to make a payment that would take you into an Unarranged Overdraft, we'll decide whether or not to pay it depending on your circumstances.
Overdrafts depend on your circumstances and you must repay any overdraft when we ask in line with our General Terms and Conditions.
To earn cashback you'll need to pay in £500 a month (any interest paid, and payments between Santander personal accounts you’re named on won't count towards this) and have 2 active Direct Debits.
You can earn 1-3% cashback on selected household bills paid by Direct Debit every month. Cashback is paid monthly.

Accounts opened from 18 December 2019 will be automatically registered for free alerts about account balance and payments to help you avoid arranged and unarranged overdraft charges. We’ll send them as texts to the mobile number you’ve registered with us, so please make sure it’s up-to-date. If you have Mobile Banking we may also choose to send you alerts as notifications there.
From 18 December 2019, we’ll no longer automatically register accounts to receive unarranged overdraft alerts by email, but we will send them by text if you’ve provided a mobile number. If you already receive these alerts by email, this will continue.
You can manage your alert settings through Online Banking, calling us on 0800 9 123 123 or visiting a branch.

Your documents, statements and some of your letters will be sent as an e-Document to your secure inbox on Online Banking (unless you require documents in an alternative format, such as braille)
To open the account, you'll need to provide us with an email address as you’ll receive an email when a document is ready to view.
Once the account has been open for at least 24 hours, you can update your account settings at any time to start receiving statements and other correspondence by post. You will still be able to earn cashback as long as you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
