A total overdraft fee cap of £95 will also apply to your account meaning if you incur any arranged and/or unarranged fees in any monthly statement period, these will never be more than £95 in total.
From your first monthly statement period starting on or after 10 July 2018, the total overdraft fee cap of £95 per monthly statement period will be removed.
*From 10 July 2018, Unarranged Overdraft usage fees will no longer apply to these accounts. This means you won’t pay any Unarranged Overdraft fees if your account goes into an Unarranged Overdraft position. (Arranged Overdraft fees will still apply when in an unarranged position if you have an arranged overdraft facility).
We’ll automatically send you alerts about your balance to help you avoid charges e.g. when you’re in an unarranged overdraft, a payment has gone unpaid or you need to pay money in to cover a payment. These alerts will be sent by text message and/or email.
Once your account has been set up you can update your alert settings at any time by logging on to Online Banking, visiting one of our branches or by calling us on 0800 9 123 123.
If you try to make a payment that would take you into an Unarranged Overdraft, we'll decide whether or not to pay it depending on your circumstances.

We will waive the 2.75% foreign exchange fee as well as the £1.99/1.5% cash handling fee when you use Santander branded cash machines in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, USA and Brazil. Some cash machines may give you the option to transact in Sterling or the local currency; please select local currency to avoid being charged fees. Not all cash machines allow you to withdraw £1,000 in one transaction so you may need to take out your money in multiple transactions. Emergency cash and card replacement is available worldwide except Cuba, India, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria and Turkmenistan
Cashback paid monthly but may vary depending on how you pay your bill or insurance premium. The 1% cashback on water and council tax bills also applies to rates in Northern Ireland.

EAR stands for Effective Annual Rate and represents the yearly cost of an overdraft, which takes account of how often we charge interest to the account, and does not include any other fees or charges. Overdrafts depend on your circumstances and you must repay any overdraft when we ask in line with our General Terms and Conditions.
