Cash and cheques paid in at our touchscreen machines take the same amount of time to clear as those paid in over the counter.
There are cash machines at most of our branches. Find a branch
Santander has over 2,400 cash machines for you to use in the UK. On our touchscreen machines you can of course take out cash whenever you want. But you can also manage your money in a number of different ways:
Favourites - save time by saving your most used transactions. As soon as you enter your PIN number your favourite transactions will show
Cash deposit - up to 50 notes at a time
Cheque deposit - up to 30 cheques at a time. The time they take to process will be the same as if they were paid in over the counter
Balance on screen - this allows you to see and print a quick balance
Mini statements - you can either view on screen or print your latest transactions
Receipt preference - you can choose to print or email receipts for withdrawals, deposits, transfers and bill payments
Transfer between accounts - transfer money in real time between your own Santander UK accounts
Change PIN number
The services above are available to Santander UK customers. Non-Santander UK customers can withdraw cash, request on-screen balances and print receipts. You can also use your Santander VISA debit card with no charge at Santander ATMs in Spain (adult accounts only).
Remember - stay aware, stay safe. Always be aware of your surroundings and shield your PIN when you use any cash machine.
Debit cards don't require activation. You only need to activate the contactless functionality which can be done at an ATM or by making a chip and PIN transaction.
Credit cards can't be activated at our machines. For credit cards either log on to Online Banking or call 0800 783 7830 (Monday to Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday 9am-5pm).
Yes. You can deposit up to 50 notes or 30 cheques at a time (they will be processed at the same day as if paid in over the counter).
In the unlikely event that you don't receive your cash you can speak to a member of staff in the branch or alternatively call 0800 9 123 123 to report the problem. Once you’ve raised the issue and we've looked into it you should be refunded within 48 hours.
In the unlikely event that your card is retained by the ATM you can speak to a member of staff in the branch or alternatively call 0800 9 123 123 to report the problem and find out what happens next.
When you have finished your transaction you will see a white box on the left of the screen that says 'Add to Favourites' - once you press this, the transaction you have chosen will appear every time you put in your PIN and you can bypass the regular screens, saving you time. You can have 3 different favourites at any one time.
