Santander Global Connect
Santander Global Connect is an additional service available through Santander Connect. It’s aimed at businesses that want visibility and control of all of their corporate bank accounts.
It gives you access to your accounts with Santander and with other banks located both in the UK and internationally. You can also register accounts held by your affiliates. This allows you to see everything in one place and you can even make payments, giving you full control of your business finances.
This page shows you how to make the most of Santander Global Connect. For any additional support, please contact our dedicated team by email at corporate.digital@santander.co.uk
If you’d like to register, please speak to your Relationship Team for more information.

Types of users and access levels
Giving a user access to the Global Connect screens
Before a user can access the Global Connect screens, your Connect Administrator will need to set up a user with either of the following entitlements in Connect:
- ‘3rd Party Banks Accounts via SWIFT’ – this should be used where the user will be granted with the access scheme called ‘Multi bank account reporting’ (see below).
- ‘3rd Party Banks Payments via SWIFT’ – this should be used for all other Access Schemes.
Setting up a user as an Authorised Administrator or Authorised User
Giving a user access to the Global Connect screens via a Master Role
To give access to a user via ‘3rd Party Banks Accounts via SWIFT’ in Connect, your Connect Administrator should go to Administration > Manage Roles and select the Account Operator Master Role. ‘3rd Party Banks Accounts via SWIFT’ is selected in the Account Information tab.
To give access to a user via ‘3rd Party Banks Payments via SWIFT’ in Connect go to Administration > Manage Roles > and select one of the below Master Roles:
- Account Operator
- Key All Pymts
‘3rd Party Banks Payments via SWIFT’ is selected in the Payment tab in either master role.
Giving a user access to the Global Connect screens via a Custom Role
If a user accesses Connect via a Custom Role, that can be edited by selecting Administration > Manage Roles > and selecting a role assigned to the user. ‘3rd Party Banks Accounts via SWIFT’ can then be found in the Account Information tab, and ‘3rd Party Banks Payments via SWIFT’ in the Payment tab.
Alternatively a new Custom Role can be created via Administration > Manage Roles > Create Roles. ‘3rd Party Banks Accounts via SWIFT’ can be found in the Account Information tab, and ‘3rd Party Banks Payments via SWIFT’ in the Payment tab. The new Role can be then be assigned to the user.
There are 2 types of roles you can grant to users in Global Connect, which will be set up by the Global Connect Administrator completing the Global Connect Set-Up Form with your Santander Onboarding Manager. These are explained further below.
Global Connect Authorised Administrators: these are users who have permission to operate and manage the service and who have access to the administration screens.
Global Connect Authorised Users: these are users who have permission to operate the service and who can only view the global position & payment screens
To set up a user with either of these roles, you'll need to assign an Access Scheme to them.
There are four types of Access Schemes. Two are for administrator roles and two are for user roles. These are explained further below:
Authorised Administrators
1. Multi-bank corporate administration senior reporting and payments
You can access the Administration screens, global position screens and are able to initiate payments.
2. Multi bank corporate administration support
You can only access the administration screens. You can’t access the global position screen or initiate payments.
Authorised Users
1. Multi bank account reporting
You can access the global position screen but can’t initiate payments.
2. Multi-bank account reporting and payments
You can see the global position screen and are able to initiate payments.
Administration
A Global Connect Authorised Administrator can manage the Access Scheme assigned to other users. They can also manage bespoke permissions for individual users, including payment limits.
