Since 1999, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers has grown to serve 24 piers, from Putney Pier in the west to Barking Riverside Pier in the east.
They had a clear goal to continue their contribution to a greener future for river transportation, and so we rose to the challenge.
For 25 years, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers been at the forefront of innovation in the river marine sector.
Support was needed to grow the fleet and decarbonise its vessels. This included the build of new vessels equipped with innovative hybrid technology. We wanted to support their ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability. To do this, we provided a bespoke funding package to help make it happen.
Securing Santander as a finance provider has been instrumental in helping us scale our operations while remaining resilient and innovative.
Their understanding of our business and the complexities of operating a modern river transport network has been fantastic.
The funding and support we’ve received from Santander has allowed us to invest in new greener vessels, including contributions to a 100% electric cross river ferry and associated infrastructure. We’ve also developed a long-term dry-docking and maintenance facility, further expanded our pier infrastructure and enhanced the passenger experience, all while staying committed to sustainability.
As well as important financial backing, having engaged with the team at Santander, we feel this is a partnership approach to our future funding requirements.
