What you need to apply

You can have this account if you’re 18 or over and live in the UK and your organisation: 

is a not-for-profit, such as a club, society or charity registered in the UK; and

has an annual turnover of up to £250,000.

 

This account should only be used by the organisation. It isn't for personal use.

How much does it cost?

There’s a £4.99 monthly fee to maintain the account. It’s paid from your account automatically each month. 
The following won't be charged a monthly account fee:

  • registered charities
  • charities exempt from registration
  • organisations with excepted charity status.

     

Paid-for transactions

All your day-to-day banking is included within the Treasurer's Current Account.

  • Cash deposits
  • Depositing and sending cheques
  • Depositing cash over the Post Office® counter
  • Cash machine withdrawals
  • Direct Debits, standing orders and bill payments
  • BACS credits
  • Debit card payments

     

Non-standard transactions

Charges apply to non-standard transactions such as change-giving, Post Office withdrawals, CHAPS payments and foreign currency transactions. Please see the General Terms and Conditions and Key Facts Document for full details.

Overdrafts

There’s no arranged overdraft available on the Treasurer’s Current Account.

We won’t charge you any interest or fees if: 

  • you use an unarranged overdraft
  • we allow a payment despite lack of funds
  • we refuse a payment due to a lack of funds.

Important information

  • No interest is paid on Treasurer's Current Account credit balances.
  • Unless your account was opened before 28 November 2014, you must have at least 2 (and a maximum of 3) authorised persons who will operate the account. Any one authorised person can make a payment or give instructions on the account.
  • You can also nominate other colleagues to have access to your account to pay money in or take it out.

Account alerts

We'll send you free alerts when: 

  • you make a payment that might take your account into an unarranged overdraft
  • we refuse a payment due to lack of funds or intend to refuse a future payment due to lack of funds.

 

We’ll send these alerts before your account's charged so you have time to pay in money to avoid or reduce these charges. It’s important to tell us if your mobile number or email address changes as we’ll send alerts by:

  • text
  • push notification
  • and/or email.
     

You'll be automatically registered for these alerts. You can manage your alerts settings at any time by using Online Banking. For more information, visit our account alerts page
