You can have this account if you’re 18 or over and live in the UK and your organisation: 

  • Is a not-for-profit, such as a club, society or charity registered in the UK; and
  • Has an annual turnover of up to £250,000.

 

You can only use the account for business purposes. It’s not for personal use.

From 1 October 2025, we’re making changes to the monthly fee for this account. Please see our ‘Fees and overdrafts’ section for more information.

Account fees and charges

There’s currently no monthly fee on this account.

From 1 October 2025, the fee for this account is £4.99 per month. Registered charities, charities exempt from registration and organisations with excepted charity status won’t be charged a monthly account fee.

Paid-for transactions

All your day-to-day banking is free within the Treasurer's Current Account.

  • Direct Debits, standing orders and bill payments
  • Bacs credits
  • debit card payments

 

Non-standard transactions

Charges apply to non-standard transactions such as change-giving, CHAPS payments and foreign currency transactions. Please see the General Terms and Conditions for full details.

Overdrafts

There’s no arranged overdraft available on the Treasurer’s Current Account. If your account balance falls below zero, you’ll go into an unarranged overdraft.

Unarranged overdraft interest, unpaid and paid item fees aren’t charged on this account.

If you are opening a Santander Treasurer's Current Account, we need to check your personal identity and we may need to check the existence of your organisation. Check you've got the ID you'll need to open the Treasurer's Current Account (PDF - 64 KB)

Important information

  • No interest is paid on Treasurer's Current Account credit balances.
  • You can have an account with up to 3 signatories. Any one signatory can approve any financial transaction (although changes to account details will require the signature of two members of the Board/Committee). There is no option available for more than one signatory to be required to authorise financial transactions.
  • You can nominate others to manage the account so you can focus on running your business.

We'll send you free alerts when: 

  • we intend to refuse a future payment due to a lack of funds
  • we refuse a payment due to lack of funds.

 

We’ll send these alerts before your account's charged so you have time to pay in money to avoid or reduce these charges. We’ll send these alerts by text, push notification, and/or email, so it’s important you tell us if your mobile number or email address changes. You'll be automatically registered for these alerts.
