Homeless support charity, Alabaré has received £5,000 to fund training with an employability coach to help young people in Chippenham develop the necessary skills, experience and qualifications needed to enter the workplace.

Exeter Northcott Theatre has received £5,000 to fund an inter-schools drama project for children in Exeter with a variety of different needs.

Glasgow-headquartered New Vent Solutions Ltd, a wholesaler of chimney and flue supplies, has secured £119,000 from Santander Business Banking to move to larger, more suitably located premises. The funding will also allow the firm to install a showroom for walk-in retail customers, to showcase the best fireplaces and stoves on offer.

Santander UK notes the publication of the results of the 2018 stress tests conducted on six major UK banks and one building society by the Bank of England. For the third year in a row, Santander UK had the lowest stressed CET1 ratio impact of all participating firms, demonstrating our resilient balance sheet and prudent approach to risk. As a result of the exercise, the Bank of England does not require Santander UK to undertake any actions.

Eastbourne-based South Cliff Dental Group is to continue its rapid expansion plans, acquiring two dental practices per year, following £4.5 million in funding from Santander Business Banking. This follows the acquisition of three new practices in 2018: Whitehawk Dental in Brighton, Copse Lane Surgery in Hamble and Gosport Smile Clinic.

Manchester-headquartered Airborne Environmental Consultants Ltd (AEC), one of the UK’s leading independent consultants and training providers, has acquired a new office in the South East and plans to hire more staff following a six-figure funding deal with Santander Business Banking. A group of Watchet Community Makers has finished work building a bespoke information and communications technology (ICT) suite at the Knights Templar First School in Watchet, thanks to a £5,000 grant from the Santander Foundation. Watchet Community Makers is a scheme developed by the Onion Collective CIC which aims to upskill volunteers to work on local projects, for the wider benefit of the community.

Carers’ Support (Bexley), has received £5,000 to fund a specialist benefits advice service for carers. The service is aimed at those carers who are struggling financially due to the requirements of their caring role, giving them the confidence and experience to become financially stable. The grant will specifically benefit unpaid carers and the disabled people they care for in the London Borough of Bexley.
