Santander launches Edge credit card offering up to £15 monthly cashback and fee-free spending abroad

Santander has today launched the Santander Edge credit card which offers up to £15 in cashback a month, with customers earning 2% cashback on all purchases for the first year and 1% after that. Customers will also benefit from fee-free spending when using their card abroad.

The new card is exclusively available to any customer who holds a Santander personal current account1. Santander Edge credit card has been designed to support and reward customers with their day-to-day spending.

Santander Edge credit card customers will also benefit from access to Santander Boosts offering cashback, vouchers, and prize draws with a range of major brands. Further information on Santander Boosts is available on the Santander website.

The Santander Edge credit card comes with a £3 monthly fee. It has a purchase rate of 23.9% p.a. (variable) and a representative rate of 29.8% APR.

Santander Head of Cards Matt Hall said: “We are delighted to launch our new Santander Edge credit card, giving customers the opportunity to earn up to £180 a year in cashback. With people facing higher costs of living, we are always looking at how we can provide new products to support customers make their money go further.

“Santander Edge credit card customers will also benefit from the added protection that you get when spending on a credit card and Santander also offers a range of mobile banking tools to help customers stay in control of their money.”

Customers can apply for the Santander Edge credit card online, over the phone, or in branch. To be eligible for the card customers must be a Santander personal current account holder, aged 18 or over, have an income of £10,500+ per year and live in the UK permanently.

Santander Edge credit card holders also have access to Mastercard priceless. This is available exclusively to Mastercard cardholders providing access to experiences and everyday discounts in cities across the world. Further information can be found on the Mastercard priceless website.

Santander has a range of current accounts new customers can sign up for which would enable them to apply for the new Santander Edge credit card. Some of the eligible accounts include:

  • The Santander Edge current account offers customers up to £20 a month from cashback on essential bills and spending, a linked 7% easy access saver, for a £3 monthly fee.
  • Santander’s Edge Up current account offers customers up to £30 a month from cashback on essential bills and spending, 3.5% AER in credit interest (up to £25,000) on their current account balance, for a £5 monthly fee.
  • The Santander Everyday current account offers customers a simple and straightforward current account with no monthly fee. Everyday customers benefit from online and mobile banking to easily manager their account, as well as free cash withdrawals from any Santander cash machine when abroad.
