One Santander customer to win £100,000 before Christmas in new prize draw

Santander UK has today launched a £100,000 prize draw for new and existing customers1 who hold either a Santander current or instant access savings account.

Entry will be automatic for customers and to be eligible a customer must hold at least £100 in their account(s) on 30th November 20232. Eligible accounts include any Santander current account and any Santander instant access savings account3.

The winner will be selected at random by 15th December 2023 and will be contacted by phone, email, or letter, within seven days of the selection date.

Following acceptance by the winner, the £100,000 prize will be paid directly into their Santander account.

Andrea Melville, Director of Current Accounts, Savings and Business Banking, Santander said: “We aim to reward our customers each and every day through our innovative products and services, cashback and interest, but we’re excited to be able to reward one lucky customer with a life-changing prize just in time for Christmas.”

Customers looking to apply for a Santander account to be eligible for the draw can choose from a range of products currently on sale including:

  • Santander Edge current account which offers customers up to £20 a month from cashback on essential bills and spending, a linked 7% easy access saver, and fee-free spending abroad using the Santander Edge debit card, for a £3 monthly fee. 
  • Santander Edge Up current account offers customers up to £30 a month from cashback on essential bills and spending, 3.5% AER in credit interest (up to £25,000) on their current account balance, and fee-free spending abroad, for a £5 monthly fee. 
  • Easy Access Saver which pays 2.50% AER/gross (variable).

Notes to editor

  1.  Entry is open to tax residents of the United Kingdom who are new or existing Santander UK customers, and aged 18 years or older. This excludes all Santander UK employees and anyone associated with the draw.
  2. Customers need to hold at least £100 total across all their account(s), rather than just one account. For example, a customer with £80 in a current account, and £20 in an instant access account would be eligible.
  3. Existing customers with instant access and current accounts that are no longer on sale to new customers, such as the 123 current account, are eligible provided they have £100 in their account(s) on the 30th November 2023.
  • The prize is a single payment of £100,000 for one customer. There are no runners’ up prizes and the winning prize will be paid into the winning customer’s Santander account.
  • No other alternatives to the prize will be offered and the prize isn’t transferrable.
