Customers, community groups and businesses are set to benefit when Santander officially opens its newly relocated branch in Upper Mall, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, NW4 3FD on 19th July 2018.

As well as offering all the services you would expect, it is the first of Santander’s branches to include a dedicated community space. This professional and innovative meeting space is designed to deliver initiatives, such as the Scam Awareness School, a community programme from Santander to help customers avoid becoming a victim of fraud or scams. The space will also be available for local community groups and businesses working in partnership with Santander.

The new branch will be officially opened by longstanding customers Mr Anthony Phillips and Mr David Padbury. Susan Allen, Head of Retail Distribution at Santander will be attending the launch event.

As part of the Bank’s commitment to customers, Santander will be hosting a Scam Awareness School from 10.00 AM onwards in the newly designed community space. The event will raise awareness of financial fraud and encourage consumers to find out more about how they can protect themselves. There will also be a charity raffle to help raise funds for the branch’s charity partner Barnados and Age Concern.

Work on the new branch design took 14 weeks to complete and facilities include digital workstations with tablets for online banking, Express Banking with a new ATM wall, counter services for more secure transactions and private interview rooms. The community space can accommodate up to 30 people and features a presentation screen and the latest audio equipment. Customers visiting the branch will be greeted in a reception area and directed to a range of tailored services depending on how they want to bank.

The branch, which employs 10 staff and is managed by Anna Zielonka, will also feature a picture wall to display local community initiatives such as Santander Foundation grants.

Santander’s Head of Retail Distribution, Susan Allen said: “Banking is changing at a rapid pace and we wanted to create a branch that can accommodate the needs of all our local customers. That means combining traditional banking facilities and a focus on delivering great customer service with modern, digital services including free Wi-Fi, customer tablets and digital ATMs.

“Santander branches are an important part of many communities and our investment in this branch reflects our commitment to Preston. We will also be illustrating our involvement in the area with a personalised picture wall showcasing the branch’s role in local initiatives.”
