Santander Insurance UK announces James Dunne as CEO, following Richard Al-Dabbagh’s appointment to global Wealth Management & Insurance Division

Santander Insurance Services UK Limited (SISUK LTD) has announced the appointment of James Dunne as CEO, following Richard Al-Dabbagh’s successful appointment to the role of Managing Director, Global Head of Corporate Development and Transformation within the Wealth Management and Insurance (WM&I) Division at Banco Santander. 

James has been appointed CEO of SISUK LTD alongside his existing responsibilities as MD of Santander UK Wealth Management. Tony Longden will be Head of Insurance, reporting to James Dunne. The SISUK LTD CEO appointment is subject to approval by regulators.

During his 7 years as CEO of SISUK, Richard has done a fantastic job in developing our insurance business and strategic insurer partnerships, and steering the business through a significant period of transformation and digitisation and he’ll continue working closely with the Santander UK team in his new role.”

With more than 14 years’ experience in the UK financial services industry, James was appointed Managing Director of Santander UK Wealth Management in May 2020, where he is responsible for the direction and growth of the wealth management division, including branch-based financial planning, private banking proposition and digital investment services for Santander UK.

He has been with Santander since 2009 and his previous roles include Global Head of Digital Investing at Banco Santander and Head of Digital Investing at Santander UK, where he gained strong experience working across a range of investment products and banking services in a variety of markets.
