Santander UK announced today that Chief Financial Officer, Duke Dayal, will be leaving the bank to pursue new business opportunities and will depart towards the end of the year. He will step down from his position on the Santander UK Board at that point and a process to appoint his successor is now underway. Duke joined Santander from Santander Holdings USA in September 2019 and has worked for the Group since 2016.
 
Santander UK, CEO, Mike Regnier said: “Duke has been an invaluable member of our Executive team helping to steer the bank through the Covid pandemic and enabling us to navigate recent challenges, including the impact of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union and the ongoing current economic uncertainty. He has also played a vital role in the shaping of our strategic direction to meet the changing needs of our customers, which has been underlined by strong financial results during his time with us.”
 
Santander UK, Chairman, William Vereker, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Duke for his contribution over the last four years. He has helped to navigate Santander UK through an ever changing and challenging economic climate, while always prioritising support for our customers.
