Cars of Grimsby, a vehicle body shop repair specialist, has secured £185,000 funding from Santander Business Banking to fund its expansion to new premises.
Managing Director Jason Barker originally started in business from the boot of his car and founded Cars of Grimsby six years ago when he decided to formalise the business and take it to the next level. Cars of Grimsby has previously managed its operations from two rented sites but with the funding from Santander Business Banking it has now moved into a single, larger, premise. The new site is 2,150 square feet larger than its old premises.
The £185,000 funding provided has also helped the business to install market leading equipment including three spray paint booths, a new paint matching technology system and solar panels, in order to operate a more efficient and environmentally friendly operation.
In line with the businesses growth ambitions, Cars of Grimsby will also hire two new members of staff in 2018 to help streamline operations. As part of Santander’s support, the business was introduced to E-Factor, a business and enterprise support group who provided a £30,000 grant.
Jason Barker, Managing Director, Cars of Grimsby, said: “We are proud of how far our business has come – since starting out from the boot of my car to now owning an established business in our own premises. Not only are we running a thriving business, we are a company with green credentials, and the funding provided by Santander has been fundamental in our developments.”
Daniel Hunt, Relationship Director, Santander Business Banking, said: “Cars of Grimsby has a strong business acumen and with the support of Santander it will be able to boast some of the most up to date equipment and tech in the car repair industry.”
