Sutton Coldfield-based Groomfield Recruitment is poised for significant growth as it secures new funding to diversify its offering. The recruitment agency took advantage of the Business Banking Switch (BBS), securing a £25,000 incentive funding as well as a £1.2 million invoice finance package from Santander UK.

Groomfield Recruitment, which has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, already specialises in industrial, warehousing logistics, distribution, catering and IT. The additional funding will see the agency recruit specialists – both permanent and temporary – in a newly created engineering division.

The company grew by 11% in 2018, returning a record turnover. This latest tranche of funding will allow the firm to grow a further 15% by the end of 2019. The agency’s clients include a number of well-known brands such as 3M, Euro Packaging and Datalec Power.

Warren Groom, Managing Director, Groomfield Recruitment commented: “Moving bank at our busiest time was a smooth and seamless process and will enable Groomfield to become even stronger and more sustainable in the future. We want to help clients and candidates alike in finding their ideal people or dream jobs across the Midlands and UK wide and this funding will allow us to do that.”

Raphael Reith, Business Relationship Director, Santander UK, added: “Warren is an experienced operator in this field, having built the business from the ground up over the last 12 years. As a significant player in the Midlands recruitment space we are honoured to have been able to support this excellent business, which is seeing continued growth that will only accelerate the success of Groomfield Recruitment.”

The Business Banking Switch is an incentivised switching scheme, which was launched in February 2019, and gives eligible businesses the opportunity to switch from Royal Bank of Scotland/NatWest to participating banks, of which Santander is included.

Groomfield Recruitment is heavily involved charity work and has recently helped support local groups including Midlands Air Ambulance and Tamworth Cricket Club.
