- New practice was officially opened on 14th February by Fife Flyers ice hockey star Peter LeBlanc
Inglis Vets, an independent veterinary group headquartered in Dunfermline, Scotland, has opened a new practice in Kirkcaldy with funding from Santander Business Banking. The official opening of the practice was carried out by local Fife Flyers hockey star Peter LeBlanc and his canine companion Luna.
The group now owns nine practices, including the Healthy Pets centre in Dunfermline which has been featured on the BBC Television documentary series ‘More Creatures Great & Small’.
The business, which has been trading for over 50 years at their main site in Dunfermline, has developed innovative veterinary care concepts including a successful preventative healthcare plan for pets, which has attracted more than 5,000 members to date. Education also plays an important role; the company’s ‘Care and Save’ branch in Cowdenbeath regularly welcomes vet students from Edinburgh University as part of their training. The initiative provides a hands-on learning environment for the students under the supervision of senior vets. It also means the branch is able to offer discounted pet care for clients using the service.
Alongside its veterinary work, the group also takes pride in its charitable contributions and provided more than £50,000 in discounts to pet charities in 2016. It also set up the Inglis Vets Malawi fund to support the work that the Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA) does to improve the welfare of domestic and farm animals in Malawi.
