Brighouse-based machinery distributor secures £1m in new funding to support strong growth

Brighouse-based machinery distributer NMA (Agencies) Ltd, a major supplier to leading brands such as Screwfix, D&M Tools, Machine Mart and Homebase, has received around £1 million in new funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial as part of a full banking switch to help the firm achieve its forecast growth plans. The increase in facilities has also supported a move into much larger premises, which will be the long-term base for the business.

Established for over 50 years, NMA has seen a 25% year-on-year sales increase for the past four years, helping deliver multi-million pound revenues for the firm. With strong growth driven by UK-wide demand for its woodworking and building trade equipment, NMA has made a name for itself by selling high quality brands and tools: the firm is a UK distributor of all official Scheppach & Mafell products, for instance.

The funding package from Santander Corporate & Commercial, designed by Luke Rowbotham and Riana Azam, will help the firm significantly cater for continued growth and cash management. Further funding support will be reviewed annually with a view to increase the funding in line with turnover growth.

Neil McEwen, Managing Director, NMA (Agencies) Ltd, said: "As sole importer of Scheppach and Mafell brands, among others, NMA has become a market leader in the UK. We are respected beyond measure for the unparalleled service we provide to our nationwide customer base, and now have strong aspirations for future growth – particularly among our portfolio of well-known wholesale clients. The support from Santander Corporate & Commercial is very much part of this growth initiative."

Luke Rowbotham, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: "It’s great to support to such a fast-growing local family business which has traded for over 50 years. The new funding facility together with Santander’s Huddersfield-based corporate team will support the directors to meet their strategic growth plans for NMA. We look forward to working with them through their next stage of growth and feel assured of a long and mutually beneficial relationship."
