Nathan Bostock, Chief Executive

Nathan Bostock was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Santander UK plc on 29 September 2014. He has served on the UK Government’s Financial Services Trade and Investment Board since 2015.

Nathan joined Santander UK from The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (“RBS”), where he was an Executive Director and Group Finance Director. He previously held the post of Group Chief Risk Officer, having joined RBS in 2009.

Nathan served on the Board of Abbey National plc (now Santander UK plc) as an Executive Director, from 2005 until 2009. He joined Abbey National plc in 2001, holding a number senior positions including Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Finance, Markets and Human Resources.

Prior to this, Nathan held a number of executive positions at RBS (1991 – 2001), after seven years with Chase Manhattan Bank in a variety of areas and functions.

Nathan is a chartered accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.

Antonio Roman, Executive Director

Antonio Roman was appointed Chief Financial Officer on 30 October 2015 and Executive Director from 1 August 2017.

Antonio Roman has extensive financial services experience across a wide range of areas including Finance, Investor Relations and Retail Banking. He was appointed Treasurer of Santander UK in 2014, with responsibility for the management of interest risk, liquidity, funding, economics and investor relations.

Antonio joined Santander UK in 2013 as Deputy Treasurer and prior to that held the position of Head of Financial Management at Banco Español de Credito SA (part of the Banco Santander group).

Antonio also worked for Grupo Caja Madrid where he served as Financial Controller from 2007 to 2010.

Javier San Felix, Executive Director

Javier San Felix was appointed Head of Retail & Business Banking, Deputy Chief Executive Officer on 1 August 2015 and Executive Director from 1 August 2017.

Javier has significant retail and commercial international banking experience. He has held a number of senior positions within the Banco Santander group since he joined in 2004, including more recently Senior Executive Vice President, Global Retail and Commercial Banking, Senior Executive Vice President, Latin America (excluding Brazil) and CEO, Banco Español de Crédito, Banesto. He was Chairman of the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) from 2014 to 2017. Javier also worked for McKinsey & Company for 13 years in Spain, latterly as a partner.
