Hear how some of our customers have worked with Elavon to grow their business.

If you're selling a product or service, getting paid fast and with ease is important to your business. We spoke to some of our customers to hear about ways payment solutions provider Elavon has helped them.

Baked by Steph

Sparked by a passion for baking, Baked by Steph has grown into a successful online business, selling handmade cookies, cakes and macarons. Watch Steph Giordano, Founder and Creative Director, talking about why partnering with Santander and our payments partner Elavon was a no brainer.

Elavon provides Baked by Steph with an online payments solution which allows streamlined and secure e-commerce transactions. As a Santander Business Banking customer, Baked by Steph enjoys improved cash flow with payments from the website paid into their business account the very next day. And Elavon’s online reporting tools allow the business to keep track of every transaction.

Not only have we found the reporting process of our sales much easier, but we’ve also found the reconciliation side of things for our book-keeper much easier as well. We receive next day payments which really helps with our cash flow.

Monkton Elm

Monkton Elm has evolved over four decades from a tomato nursery to an award-winning destination garden centre. Mike Lind and David Formosa talk about their thriving onsite business alongside a growing online market. Hear how the security of a controlled payments, reporting and inventory system benefits them and how, with their continued relationship with Santander and Elavon, they’re planning to develop their business in the future.

We’ve noticed a distinct change over recent times as customers are moving away from spending cash and moving towards card payments. Our EPOS system allows us to control the payments at point of sale in a contactless manner and then links through to our reporting structure, so it controls our inventory.

What to consider when exploring your payment needs

  1. Get to know your customers – how are changing trends in consumer behaviour affecting your business? It could be in terms of the shift away from cash, or more customers now buying from you remotely. Knowing how customers buy from you will have an impact on the payment options you provide.

  2. Find solutions that will grow with you – find a provider that understands your business and can help you achieve your growth ambitions. Think about flexibility of contracts, and how well the provider can adapt their service to meet your needs. Consider ways their products can manage and automate some of your day-to-day tasks, including integration into things like your existing accounting software.

  3. Speak to business owners – peers can give you honest reviews about the services they use. Have a look at our customer stories showing how businesses are working with Elavon in different ways.

  4. Be aware of the costs and make sure your provider is upfront about their fees. Ask for their installation fees, hardware costs and monthly charges.

  5. A safe and secure business – your provider should ensure your customers’ data is safe. They should also protect your business and make sure it is following any necessary regulation.

You can contact Elavon to explore ways to take payments from your customers, including face to face, over the phone, online or on the move with Elavon’s payments acceptance solutions. Or if you’d rather request a callback from a specialist at Elavon, they can guide you through the options available.
