1. NEET stands for 'Not in Education, Employment or Training'. In the UK, it usually refers to young people aged 16–24 who aren't in work, education or training. This includes both those who are actively looking for a job and those who are economically inactive and not currently seeking work.

NEET is a key indicator of youth inactivity. It's tracked by organisations such as the Office for National Statistics (ONS). It’s widely used by policymakers and charities to understand barriers facing young people. It helps to shape programmes that support transitions into work, education or training.
