Change your business trading address

Step 1

  • You can change your business trading address in the business app. Tap on the menu in the top right-hand corner.
  • To change your trading address, we’ll need you to upload a photo of your proof of address during this process. This will need to be saved to your device before you start the change of address process.
  • Any change of your trading address will only apply to accounts for this business. For other businesses, you’ll need to start again and select the other business.

Step 2

  • Tap ‘My details’.                               

Step 3

  • Tap ‘My business details’.                        

Step 4

  • From the dropdown, select the business you want to change details for. Tap ‘Yes’ to confirm you have the correct business, and then tap ‘Continue’.

  • Tap on your trading address       

Step 6

For sole traders

  • If you tapped on your business trading address in ‘My business details’, you’ll start the process to change your business trading address.

Step 7

For sole traders

  • Select the type of your new business trading address.
  • Enter the new full postcode in the input box and select the correct address from the list. 

Step 8

For sole traders

  • Select the relevant box if you want to also change your correspondence address.
  • This will change the correspondence address to all accounts for the business and must match either the trading address or a home address we hold.
  • You can then tap ‘continue to document upload’.

Step 9

For sole traders

  • As you’re changing your address, we need you to upload a photo of a document to prove your new trading address.
  • You can see a list of acceptable documents by tapping on ‘How can I prove my trading address’.
  • Tap ‘Upload’ and find the file(s) on your device. When you’re happy, tap ‘Continue’. 

Step 10

For sole traders

  • You’ll be able to see a summary of any changes you’ve asked for and details of the file(s) you’ve uploaded.
  • If these details are correct, you can tick the box to confirm this before tapping ‘Confirm change’.

Step 11

For sole traders

  • We'll then ask you to read and confirm the Declaration. When you're happy, tick the box to confirm this before tapping ‘Confirm’.

  • The change will take 5 working days to complete. 

Step 12

For limited companies

  • If you tapped on your business trading address in ‘My business details’, you’ll start the process to change your business trading address. 
  • Any change to your business trading address will only apply to accounts for this business. For other businesses, you’ll need to start again and select the other business.
  • You can change your trading address using this process, but not your registered business address. To change your registered business address, you’ll first need to update Companies House and then fill in our change of details form

For limited companies

  • Select the type of your new business trading address. 
  • Enter the new full postcode in the input box and select the correct address from the list.  

Step 14

For limited companies

  • Select the relevant box if you want to also change your correspondence address. 
  • This will change the correspondence address to all accounts for the business and must match either the trading address, registered address or a correspondence address we hold.
  • You can then tap ‘continue’.

For limited companies

  • If you’re changing your trading address to an address that differs from your registered address, we need you to upload a photo of a document to prove your new trading address. 
  • You can see a list of acceptable documents by tapping on ‘How can I prove my trading address?’.
  • Tap ‘Upload’ and find the file(s) on your device. When you’re happy, tap ‘Continue’. 

Step 16

For limited companies
