Our free account alerts help you stay up-to-date with what’s happening in your accounts.
If you have a current account and/or credit card, you were automatically registered to receive some account alerts to help you avoid charges, or to let you know about certain activity on your account.
We’ll send these alerts by text, push notification, and/or email, so it’s important you tell us if your mobile number or email address changes.
You can manage your alert settings and set up new alerts by:
- Using Online Banking (log on, click ‘Account services’, then ‘Account alerts’ on the left-hand side and follow the steps). If you're not yet using Online Banking you can sign up today
- Visiting your local branch
- You can also contact us
To set up account alerts:
- log on to Online Banking
- click the 'Account services' tab
- click 'Account alerts' on the left-hand side
- choose your account from the drop-down menu
- pick the alerts you'd like to receive.
Setting up push notifications
If you already have push notifications enabled for Mobile Banking you don’t need to do anything else. If you haven’t set up push notifications or you’re not sure how to do it, simply:
- Log on to Mobile Banking
- Tap on 'Menu'
- Tap on 'settings'
- Choose 'Manage notifications'
- Turn on push notifications using the toggle switch.
Push notifications you get will be stored in your inbox in the Mobile Banking app for 7 days.
You can log on to Online Banking to set up, amend or cancel some of the alerts we send. You can change your preferences any time you like.
Managing your alerts
If you don’t have push notifications set up or don’t want them, we’ll send you alerts about your account through text messages. We can only guarantee delivery to customers who are in the UK with a UK registered number (+44).
If you turn off push notifications, then your phone or device will block any alerts that were due to be sent to you in the next 24 hours.
If you want to turn off push notifications, it's important to do so in the Mobile Banking app. You can turn off all notifications on your mobile phone. But we won’t know that you’ve made a change until you next log on and you won’t receive important notifications.
You should also turn off push notifications in-app on any old mobile phones you're no longer using.
You won't be able to get push notifications if you’re out of range of WiFi or Mobile Data coverage. This includes when your mobile phone is off. Consider turning off push notifications if you’re expecting to be in this situation.
If you have a current account and/or credit card, you’ll be automatically registered for the alerts below.
