Our expectations
Our suppliers support our purpose and prioritise ethical, sustainable supply chains. By working together we can continually improve our performance.
And that means meeting our minimum requirements and expectations.

Before we can accept a service, all suppliers must:
- agree to adhere to our Code of Supplier Responsibility or demonstrate parity to our code through their own policies
- have an active SAP Business Network account which is connected to Santander to enable information sharing and transaction exchange
- pass all due diligence screening through the Financial Supplier Qualification System (FSQS) or other risk assessment activities to satisfy our regulatory requirements
- agree to legally binding terms and conditions of the service, signed by both Santander UK and the supplier, and be in receipt of a valid purchase order.
All suppliers must agree to abide by our Code of Supplier Responsibility. We expect suppliers to:
- join us in our commitment to become a more sustainable organisation
- support the UK’s transition to a net-zero economy by 2050 by fostering a culture of sustainability across their own supplier chain
- respect the human rights of their own workforce, their supply chain and their customers by complying with the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015
- actively demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion through all aspects of workplace operations and management
- operate to the highest standard of integrity in all business dealings, eliminating all forms of corruption, extortion, and bribery from business practices.

We connect, transact and partner with prospective and existing suppliers through the SAP Business Network. It’s a collaborative platform that unifies buyers and suppliers, automates processes and enables transaction exchange, information sharing and trading partner discovery.
Prospective suppliers will be sent an invitation to create a new account or connect to an existing one.
As a regulated bank, we work hard to identify and manage risks in our supply chain.
To support this commitment, all new suppliers will be required to complete onboarding due diligence and risk assessment activities. Santander subscribes to the Financial Supplier Qualification System (FSQS) which is designed to standardise and manage your compliance and assurance data.

All suppliers are required to sign a contract and be in receipt of a valid purchase order before delivering the service. This establishes the legally binding terms and conditions of service, delivery and performance so we can make sure we’re all on the same page.
(In some cases, purchase order T&Cs will constitute the contract.)
