Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy (RGA) has received £2,300 to fund soft gym equipment for disadvantaged children in Aldershot.

The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.

RGA provides gymnastic and other physical recreational activities to improve the social welfare of local young people. The grant will enable the RGA to expand their range of gym equipment to allow children under five to play, explore safely and build their self-confidence.

Colin Wright, Founder and Director at Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy said: “Our apparatus is so well used and gets a lot of wear and tear. This grant will enable us to replace some of the smaller apparatus and introduce some new and exciting equipment as well. We are very grateful to the Santander Foundation.”

Joanne Bigg, Branch Manager at Santander’s Aldershot branch said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local children.”
