Terms and conditions

Effective from 26 March 2026

The Santander Select service is a free service we provide to eligible customers to help them manage their finances. Being a Santander Select service customer is subject to these terms and conditions.

To qualify as a Santander Select service customer, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

You must hold a Santander UK current account, and either:

  • Pay your main income of at least £5,000 per month into a Santander UK current account (excluding transfers from other Santander UK accounts); or
  • Hold at least £75,000 in any Santander UK investments, savings and/or current account.

The Santander Select service only applies to personal accounts. It doesn’t apply to business or corporate accounts.

What the service includes

As a Santander Select service customer, you may be offered exclusive products, rates and/or other services. What's available may change over time. You can see what’s currently included at santander.co.uk/select

Your access to any of these may be subject to their own application and acceptance, eligibility criteria and status. Individual products and services will have their own terms and conditions. There may be fees or charges associated with any products that you open, or other services you use. If there are, this will be set out in the terms and conditions of that product or service.

Joint accounts

You can become a Santander Select service customer either by meeting the eligibility criteria from accounts in your own name, or by being named on a joint account where the joint account holder meets the eligibility criteria.

If a joint account qualifies for the Santander Select service, anyone named on the joint account will also qualify. That means the other holders of the joint account will be able to see that you’re a Santander Select service customer. If either holder opts out of the Santander Select service, everyone named on the joint account will be opted out.

If you’re eligible for the Santander Select service due to accounts in your sole name and you also have a joint account which doesn’t qualify, and the other joint account holders aren’t Santander Select service customers, they won’t be able to see that you’re a Santander Select customer.

If both joint account holders qualify as Santander Select service customers in their own right through sole-named qualifying accounts, and you also have a joint account which is not a qualifying account, the joint account will be treated as Santander Select too. That will be visible to the other holders of the joint account.

We’ll never discuss your Santander Select status or how you qualified for the Santander Select service with any other account holders on your joint accounts.

If you stop qualifying

If you no longer meet the Santander Select service eligibility criteria, you’ll become ineligible to be a Santander Select service customer.

We’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice that you’ll lose access to Santander Select service benefits. If you have a joint account that stops qualifying, we’ll notify one person named on the account about this. This notice will also apply to the other joint account holders.

We’ll also confirm to you separately what this means for any Santander Select products and/or other services you hold at the time. Depending on the product, you might be able to keep it until the end of its term, or you might be offered a similar product and/or service that’s available to customers who aren’t part of Santander Select.

Opting out of the Santander Select service

You can opt out of being a Santander Select service customer at any time by giving us notice. Just contact us to let us know. This won’t impact any Santander Select products you already hold.

If we make changes to, or withdraw, the Santander Select service

We can change these terms and conditions, including the eligibility criteria, the complimentary nature of the Santander Select service, or withdraw the Santander Select service altogether, at any time.

If we do:

  • if the change is not to your disadvantage, we’ll place a notice in santander.co.uk/select within 60 days of making the change; or
  • if the change is to your disadvantage, we’ll give you reasonable personal notice (at least 60 days) in advance of making the change.

If you aren’t happy about the changes, you can opt out of the Santander Select service before the change comes into effect. If you don’t opt out before the change comes into effect, we’ll treat you as having accepted the change.

These terms and conditions supplement your General Terms and Conditions. If these terms and your general terms say something different about the same topic, these terms will apply.
