Find a new deal, move home, borrow more or make changes to your existing mortgage

Use our Mortgage Transfer Service to change your mortgage deal online

It could take as little as 15 minutes to check out all the deals you qualify for, what your monthly payments could look like and then to select the new deal you want.

You will be able to view your deals if one or more of your loans on your mortgage deal finishes within the next four months, or is on a Standard Variable Rate and:

  • you have more than £6500 left to repay on each of the loans on your mortgage

  • you have more than five and a half years left on each of the loans on your mortgage

  • you don’t want to borrow more or make other changes to your mortgage (for example to the term, repayment method or to pay off a lump sum)

  • you have not let your property

  • you don’t have a Flexible Offset or Lifetime Tracker mortgage

  • you don’t want to transfer to a Flexible Offset Mortgage

Plus, if you have an Alliance & Leicester mortgage you must only have a single loan on your mortgage.

Getting started
To use the service, you will need to have your mortgage account number and monthly repayment amount on hand. You can find both of these on your latest mortgage statement.

With no valuation fees or new Direct Debits to set up, if your current Santander mortgage deal is coming to an end or you're already on our Standard Variable Rate, it's fast and easy to change to a new mortgage.

Change your mortgage over the phone
You don't have to set up a new Direct Debit and you may not even have to sign any forms. So sorting out a new mortgage could be done quickly and easily.

If you are considering moving to a new deal before your existing deal has finished, you could do this, however, an Early Repayment Charge may apply.

If you have a Track and Fix mortgage and are still on your Tracker rate you can transfer to a Fixed rate without paying an Early Repayment Charge. However if you want to change to a different Tracker rate or a Flexible Offset mortgage an Early Repayment Charge will apply.

All applications are subject to status and our lending criteria. This means that the amount we will lend you will depend on your individual circumstances, the type of property and the amount you borrow. For example, we may require a higher deposit if you are buying a flat or a new build property.

Frequently asked questions

  • This is where you only have a single loan active on your mortgage account. You could have more than one active loan on your mortgage if:

    • you've taken out an Additional Loan with us

    • you've transferred a product and increased your overall mortgage when you moved house or

    • you have more than one type of Repayment method i.e. part of your loan is on repayment and part is on Interest Only.

    If you're unsure, your latest annual mortgage statement will show the number of active loans. Please ignore any loans with a £0.00 balance.

  • If you have entered the account number shown on your latest Mortgage Statement and you were unable to sign in, unfortunately you can’t use the online service. However, we have Mortgage Advisers available to talk to you and if you would like to know the deals that are currently available then please call us on
    0800 068 6462.
     

  • We can only transfer your current deal online if you keep all the details of your existing mortgage the same. If you wish to make any changes to your mortgage including changing your method of repayment, your term or borrowing more then you will need to call us on 0800 068 6462.

  • If you have not signed and returned the paperwork then please just destroy the paperwork.

    If you've already signed and returned the paperwork to us:

    • If you were on our Standard Variable Rate then your mortgage will have already been transferred onto the deal you selected.

    • If you are within four months from the end of your existing deal then please call us on 0800 068 6462, as your mortgage will have been set up to transfer to the new deal automatically when your existing deal ends. We will need to check the current status of your transfer and inform you of your options.

  • The Fixed and Tracker rate mortgage deals online are the same as the deals available over the phone. However, if you are thinking about transferring your mortgage to a Flexible Offset mortgage you will need to call us on 0800 068 6462.
