We will do a credit assessment of your circumstances when you apply. This will involve a credit search and may affect the interest rate we can offer. Repayments must be made by Direct Debit. Credit available subject to status to UK residents aged 21 years and over. We reserve the right to refuse any application and to refuse a loan for certain purposes. If you apply online, we'll send you an email confirming our decision within a few minutes of you submitting your application.
If your application is accepted you'll receive your loan agreement within 2-5 working days. You should sign and return this as soon as possible.
If you don't receive your agreement documents within 5 working days please contact us on 0800 602 27 13.
When we receive your signed agreement, we'll deposit your funds into your nominated account within 1-2 working days.
The APR on all Santander personal loans is fixed for the duration of the loan term.
A credit search is a search made by us with a credit reference agency (such as Experian or Equifax) to assess your credit history. We use this information to help us decide whether we can lend you money.
We search your name and all personal address details that have been provided by you in your application. A record of the search will be recorded on your credit file, which means that other lenders will be able to see that you’ve applied for a loan with us. This can be important as some lenders take a negative view of too many credit applications on your file. As part of your application, we may request a search from more than one credit reference agency and we'll also take into consideration how you manage any Santander accounts you have.
