Get up to £500 with our home energy cashback.

If you want to borrow money to make energy-efficient improvements to your home, you could get £500 cashback through one of our trusted suppliers.

How it works

  1. Get in touch with one of our trusted partners through our Greener Homes Hub or by visiting My Home Manager in the Mobile Banking app.
  2. Understand your options to borrow money, along with how and when you’ll get cashback below.
  3. Once you know the cost for the work, you can apply for an additional loan on your existing Santander mortgage or a personal loan that you’ll pay back by Direct Debit.
  4. Our trusted supplier will complete the energy-efficient home improvements and tell us they’ve done it.
  5. We’ll review the cost of the work you’ve done and the amount you’ve borrowed to work out the cashback amount.
  6. We’ll pay your home energy cashback into your Direct Debit account within 10 business days of the supplier telling us the work is complete.

Eligibility

You’ll need to meet these points to qualify for our home energy cashback.

  • Be an existing Santander mortgage or personal current account customer.
  • Get an additional loan on your mortgage or a personal loan from us to pay for the work.
  • Set up a Direct Debit to pay for the additional loan or personal loan.
  • Complete your energy-efficient home improvements through one of our trusted suppliers shown on our partner page (Octopus Energy or Vibrant), or in My Home Manager (Octopus Energy, Vibrant, MakeMyHouseGreen, Fusion8, MyEnergi).
  • Any work carried out by our trusted supplier must be at the property address of your existing Santander mortgage or Santander personal current account. 

 

There are two levels of cashback you can get. The amount you’ll get will depend on how much you borrow.

  • £250 home energy cashback if you borrow between £5,000 and £9,999. 
  • £500 home energy cashback if you borrow £10,000 or more.     
     

Terms and conditions

  • You can only get 1 home energy cashback payment per household.
  • Geographical restrictions apply for some of the partner services offered.
  • MakeMyHouseGreen, Fusion8 and MyEnergi are only available through My Home Manager in the Mobile Banking app.
  • You must have an existing Santander mortgage or personal current account. This must remain active to get the home energy cashback payment.
  • Santander mortgage customers and personal current account holders only. Cater Allen, cahoot and Business Banking current accounts aren’t eligible.
  • You can apply for the additional loan or personal loan in Online Banking, our Mobile Banking app or by phone.
  • You must have started your additional loan or personal loan application after 7 May 2024.
  • Any work must be finished by 31 December 2024 to qualify for the home energy cashback.
  • Offer can be withdrawn at any time.
  • We’re not responsible for the compliance with any necessary planning or building regulations for any work completed with the supplier.
  • We’re not responsible for the cost or quality of the work done by the supplier. You must be satisfied with the work.
     

Your borrowing options

Additional loan


If you’d like to borrow money to improve the energy efficiency of your home, you could apply for an additional loan on your existing Santander mortgage. The loan is secured against your home.

Personal loan

Personal loan

If you’d like to borrow money to improve the energy efficiency of your home, you could apply for a personal loan. The loan is not secured against your home. Rates from 6.2% APR representative on loans from £7,500 to £15,000. Credit subject to status.

Only borrow what you need and can comfortably afford to repay. Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. Applications are subject to status and lending criteria
