Santander Travel Insurance includes:

  • Unlimited medical expenses if you’re injured or become ill abroad.
  • Up to £5,000 if you have to cancel, shorten or abandon your holiday due to circumstances you were unaware of when you took out the policy.
  • Personal property of up to £2,000 (a single item limit of £300 applies) that is lost, stolen or damaged. You're not covered for money, passports or valuables left unattended (unless locked away).
  • Essential items of clothing, toiletries or medication of up to £200 if your bags are delayed by the airline or carrier for 12 hours or more.

  • Your travel insurance also includes trip cancellation cover if, at the time you are travelling, the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises against travel for any reason other than a Coronavirus outbreak (or another communicable disease). You’ll only be protected if advice from the FCDO wasn't in place when you took out your policy and booked your trip.

Always check before booking a trip

Before booking a trip or travelling, check the FCDO website for travel advice. You can check the country you plan to visit for the latest updates and whether it's safe to go there. These updates can change regularly and at short notice. We strongly recommend that you check your cancellation rights with your travel provider before booking a holiday abroad.
