When you open your account you'll get an Arranged Overdraft limit of £250 as soon as we’ve checked you’re an eligible student. To increase this to £1,500 you need to pay in £500 and continue to pay in at least £500 per academic term.
You can ask to reduce your overdraft limit at any time. You may notice as you start a new academic year that your overdraft limit automatically increases in line with the allowances we've set out above. Don't forget that you can always ask us to reduce the limit if you don't want to have a larger overdraft.

One Railcard per 1|2|3 Student Current Account.
There is no cash alternative to the Railcard and it is not transferable to any other person.
The unique Railcard code must only be redeemed by the Santander 1|2|3 Student Current Account holder.
The Railcard will be issued and maintained by the Rail Delivery Group.
The Railcard can only be used in mainland Great Britain; that is England, Scotland and Wales. It can't be used on train services in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

|2)||When you’ve filled out your details we’ll email instructions on how to provide your proof of course and if required, any ID (we’ll email the address you provided in the application form).|

|4)||Follow the instructions in the email we send you to register for your free Santander 16 -25 Railcard through Online Banking (you'll receive this within 5 working days of completing your order).|
Use the address where you’re registered on the electoral roll, or alternatively, make sure you register on the electoral roll at your new address. You can always change your correspondence address with us if you’d like to receive your statements and other important information by post to your university address.
You must update your address with us each time you move.
Your Santander unique code will be valid for 60 days from the date of issue. If you already have a Railcard that is due to expire within this time you can wait until the day after it has expired and then apply for your Santander 16-25 Railcard here.
If you can't wait until your Railcard has expired, or your current Railcard is due to expire within the next three months, you won't be able to renew using your current online Railcard account. You will need to set up a new account using a different email address to the one you previously used, and order a new Railcard.
Yes. You can tell us where to send your Santander 16-25 Railcard when you submit your order.
Yes. However, when you travel between 4.30am and 10am Monday to Friday, it can only be used on fares that cost at least £12. There is no minimum fare when you travel at weekends, on Public Holidays, or during July and August.
No. Unfortunately you need to wait for your Santander 16-25 Railcard to arrive.
Yes. You are eligible as long as you open a Santander Student Account, pay in at least £500 per term and register for Online Banking.
No. The Santander 16-25 Railcard is valid for 4 years. The expiry date will be printed on the front of the Santander 16-25 Railcard.
A statement period usually runs from the monthly anniversary of the date you opened or transferred your account, unless you've asked for it to be changed.
For example, if your statement date is the 18th of the month, your monthly statement period will cover the period from the 18th of one month until the 17th of the next.
Where we talk about a month in relation to your account, we're referring to the monthly statement period. When we ask you to fund the account each month, or talk about paying cashback monthly - for example - we mean the monthly statement period.
