A commitment to lend

At Santander, we're proud of our record of funding UK businesses. In 2011, our lending to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) grew by 27% and we made new lending commitments of £4 billion - ahead of our own targets, and achieving those set by the Government under the Project Merlin agreement.
