What's covered by our buildings insurance?

We will cover up to £750,000, depending on the sum insured
Protection against fire, storm, flood, theft, vandalism, leaks and subsidence
Accidental damage to glass, ceramic hobs if fitted and sanitary ware as standard
Additional accidental damage cover can be purchased to provide cover for unfortunate accidents such as damage caused by DIY accidents
Cover during the sale of the property
Cover for professionally installed solar panels and source heating pumps as standard
Theft or loss of keys up to £500
Emergency access cover for damage caused by fire, ambulance or police services if they have to make a forced entry to your home as a result of an emergency.

What's covered by our contents insurance?

Contents up to the value of £99,000, depending on the amount of cover selected
New for old cover - terms and conditions apply
10% increase in contents sum insured to cover purchases related to a wedding, Christmas or another religious event for one month either side of the relevant event
Up to £500 of freezer contents
Up to £1,000 of garden contents cover
Theft of cash (up to £500 per incident), credit cards or the cost of replacement - up to a maximum of £1,000 during the period of insurance
Theft from the garage or outbuildings - up to a maximum of £2,000
Accidental damage to home entertainment equipment
Additional accidental damage cover can be purchased to provide cover for unfortunate accidents such as paint spillages on a sofa or carpet
Any bicycle worth under £350 is covered as standard, but if yours is worth more than this, you can pay an additional premium to add bicycle cover to your policy.
Electronic data downloads e.g. iTunes and movies (up to £250 per claim) - up to a maximum of £1,000 during the period of insurance.

When applying for a new Options Home Insurance policy, Santander customers will receive either:

1) a 20% discount

2) a 30% discount for existing Santander 123 Credit Card or Santander 123 Current Account holders only (the '123 product')

If you qualify for the 30% discount, you will receive this instead of, and not in addition to the 20% online discount. The 123 product must be open before the home insurance quote is requested. If you cancel or close the 123 product either before the home insurance starts or during the term of the home insurance, we reserve the right to withdraw the discount applied for the remaining period of cover.
Excludes Santander Options Home Insurance policies bought through price comparison websites.
Where the policy is paid for in monthly instalments the discount will be applied over the monthly instalments.
