Index Linked Savings Bonds

Offers an interest return linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 Index

Benefit from the potential growth in the stockmarket and ensure you earn at least a minimum interest return at maturity.

1Subject to daily averaging over the last six months of the investment term. By using an average at the end of the fixed term the performance of the Index is smoothed from sudden fluctuations shortly before maturity. Whilst this could reduce the benefits of a rising market, it also reduces the adverse effects of a falling market.

What will I get back?

These tables illustrate what you might get back at maturity, based on an initial deposit of £10,000.

Please remember there is no guarantee that the Index will rise or behave the way it has done in the past.

The figures below do not take account of the impact of Income Tax which may be payable on the interest return element of the maturity proceeds.

Important Information

  • When you open a Bond we will send you a certificate. Please keep it safe. If the certificate is lost or stolen, you must report it to us. If you tell us within three months of opening a Bond that you have not received a certificate, we will issue a replacement one without charge. After three months, we may charge. The certificate will show your initial deposit only. Any interest returns will be shown as 0%, as these will be calculated at maturity.
  • When the term ends (at maturity) the money will be transferred to an instant access account unless before the end of the term you instruct otherwise. We will write to you to confirm product details and rates at least 30 days before the Bond matures. Please note that at maturity if you wish to transfer funds to an external account (non Santander), this can only be done in branch or over the phone and not via the internet.
  • The interest return is only payable at maturity and if the Bond is held for the full term.
AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest return would be if we paid an interest return and added it to your Bond each year. The interest return will be variable, depending on the performance of the Index, unless it is either a fixed minimum or fixed maximum. Gross is the rate before the deduction of the basic rate of Income Tax, currently 20%.
  • Withdrawals or account closure will not be permitted during the fixed term period. The account may be closed in the event of an account holder's death.
  • No additional deposits can be made once the initial deposit has been made.
  • Please note that transactions are not viewable online.
  • Please remember there is no guarantee the Index will rise or behave the way it has done in the past.
