Opening your Guaranteed Capital Plus

The best way to apply for a Guaranteed Capital Plus is to visit your local branch where you can talk to a Santander advisor and discuss your needs.

You can find your local branch using our branch finder or call 0845 7654321 to arrange an appointment to come in and see us in branch. Lines are open 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday.

Remember, you'll need to bring some proof of your name and address. See a list of acceptable identification.

Alternatively, if you are happy that you understand the product and the risks associated with it, just follow the steps below. You’ll need to download the relevant forms below then post them back to us.

You can apply if you are

• Aged 18 or above
• Resident and ordinarily resident in the UK for tax purposes
• Able to invest at least £1,500
• Able to leave your money in for the full term

If you have any doubt that this investment is right for you, one of our advisers will be happy to talk to you free of charge. You can also talk to an independent adviser. You may need to pay to do this.

Before you begin you’ll need

• Your National Insurance number
• Proof of your name and address. See the list of acceptable identification

How to get started

• Before filling in any forms, carefully read the Key Features Document, the relevant Term Sheet and the applicable Terms and Conditions as well as other relevant documents.
• Next you should fill in the downloadable application form.
• Then, send your form, together with your proof of identification (which will be returned to you) and a cheque (made payable to yourself) for the opening amount to:

• You will hear from us by post within five working days – and, if approved, we will confirm your application by post
