Opening your 16-18 Current Account

It’s quick and easy to apply for the 16-18 Current Account. The application should take around 10 minutes.

You can apply if you are:

aged 16 or 17:
living permanently in the UK; and
beginning further education or starting a full or part-time job.

What you need to do

You need to complete the online application form from the ‘apply now’ link. This should take about 10 minutes.
Sign the application form we will send you and return it to us with your ID in the envelope we will provide.

What we do

We aim, within five working days, to process your application and send you a letter and a copy of your application to the address you provide so that you can check the details and sign it. (Please remember to allow for weekends and bank holidays.)
Once we receive your ID and signed application form back in the post, we’ll open your account within five working days.
Once your account is open, we will send you, within seven to 10 working days, your new card and pin, separately, to the address you provided.
